Little Text Generator on the Prairie
Laura Ingalls Wilder is the author of the Little House on the Prairie series of books, which were the basis of the classic television show. Lorem Ingalls is an alternative to Lorem Ipsum filler text, using a random arrangement of phrases from Wilder' work to produce readable copy. It is programmed in PHP, and accesses external files for use as a word bank, parsing and dividing sentences based on punctuation rules. Because the text parsing is built in, the same code could be directed towards another text source and perform the same text-generative function. This is a lot more interesting than the comparatively easier task of using an internal, pre-processed word bank. By sheer coincidence, Lorem Ingalls was launched on February 7, 2015, Wilder's 148th birthday.
